I am Diya.
I am a wife.
I am a baker.
I am a foodie.
I am a traveller.
I live in the UAE.
I am an introvert.
I am a book lover.
I am a cross stitcher.
I struggle with my faith.
I accept my laugh lines.
I have skydived… twice!
I adore Calvin and Hobbes.
I am approaching my thirties.
I couldn’t cook to save my life.
My husband claims I am a slob.
I am sarcastic with close friends.
I am a thinker… often overdoing it.
I am passionately in love with words.
So why Diyalogues?
I have always been in awe of people who come up with witty blog names that are a play on their own name. For single word puns my awe is magnified ten times over. While I may not have been as successful at this as I would like to believe (try spinning a name like Diya and see how far you get), Diyalogues is a pretty close enough pun for me!
Moreover, I have come to learn that blogging is a two way street, a give-and-take. No blogger is an island (What? That’s not how it goes you say?). In other words, blogging is a di(y)alogue.
And last but not the least, this blog is a reflection of all my interests – a catalogue of all my passions.
So there you have it. The story behind Diyalogues. Don’t give up on me just yet, will ya? Stick around and read some more!

I love Diyalogues. Wonderful blog name!

Sighhh… it is sadly true. I am the blot of shame on my Indian heritage 😀 At this age I should be expertly whipping up dinners for 50 guests while simultaneously juggling 2 babies and a full time job 😀 In my defense food tastes so much better when someone else cooks it for you 🙂

Hello Diya,
It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I love your voice and courage to travel alone. My youngest daughter travels a great deal. She has not quite made the leak to traveling alone but has considered doing so. I am going to refer your blog to her. Thank you so much for stopping by the Cow Pasture and welcome to the fence jumpers. I look forward to reading more about your travels. @sheilamgood at Cow Pasture Chronicles

Hey there Sheila! Lovely to have you here at Diyalogues 🙂
Your daughter is blessed indeed to get the opportunity to travel frequently. And solo travel is a logical next step for someone who has a deep rooted passion for travel. Would love to cheer her on if that is indeed a dream for her 🙂

Hi! Just stopping by to say that I love your “voice” on your blog. You make me smile a lot. So wonderful to have you as a friend on here. You gotta love WordPress! Have a great day and don’t struggle too much with your faith. Struggle is normal I think. Just like Jacob who after literally struggling with Him was renamed Israel. You are in good company! He loves you ❤

Well hello there, Diya! What a fascinating blog! I’m sure to be looking around and finding out more about you and your adventures. I have never “met” anyone from the UAE before (I don’t think), but I loved that we seem to have lots in common! (OK, well, I’m quite a bit older than you, but…) I love food, travel, cross-stitch (and now quilting) and of course, reading and writing! Can two ridiculously sarcastic people be friends? I hope so!

Lovely to see you found you way here Lynn! 🙂 I don’t think age or sarcasm matters in friendships 🙂 I love cross stitch but haven’t been able to pick up my needle in ages! I’d love to try quilting someday too. Although in this weather it seems a bit redundant 🙂
