Today let’s take a look at a WIP I started as part of a 2015 New Year SAL.
This one is Cupid and Psyche from Love Thy Thread with artwork by Sabine Rich.

Yet again this proves that I seem to have a weakness for all things with wings (Sheer poetry there, folks!). I enjoyed reading about the legend of Cupid and loved that the pattern was monochromatic of sorts.
Surprisingly enough, the pattern actually calls for 13 different colors! Some of the colors had me seriously doubting the DMC color list provided with the pattern. Surely there was no place for pinks and greens in this pattern? In the end though, even the oddest colors seem to blend perfectly with its neighbors creating a truly subtle effect. Lesson learnt… Always trust the designer.
I love how the pattern symbols are large, clear and distinct. It has much larger symbols than my HAED patterns on a comparable page size, making it really easy on the eyes.
This design is being stitched on 28 count dove grey Monaco, 2 over 1, tent stitch. Once I met the target for the SAL the piece got put away so that I could focus on some other WIP’s. Here is my current progress.
Sadly Love Thy Thread is no longer in business today. Bev had some absolutely gorgeous patterns and the closure of her shop is a real loss to the stitching community. I’m so glad I managed to grab this one before they closed.
Is anyone out there working on any LTT pieces? If so, which ones?
So glad you were able to pick this one up. I have not heard of that company. This one is a beauty. You are off to a great start. I look forward to seeing progress on this one 🙂
